Projects: Track Your Builds and Missing Parts

Projects help you plan a build by tracking the parts you need, the parts you already own, and what is still missing. You can manage them from Projects.

What you can do with Projects

  • Create multiple projects for different builds
  • Add catalog items and optional colors
  • Set the quantity required for each item
  • See owned vs missing quantities for every row
  • Filter items by All, Missing, or Owned
  • Send missing parts to cart from one action

Create a project

On the Projects page:

  • Click New Project
  • Enter a name
  • Optionally add a description

Your project list shows progress, item counts, and whether parts are still missing.

Add items to a project

Inside a project:

  • Click Add item
  • Search the catalog by name or SKU
  • Choose a color if the part supports colors
  • Enter the required quantity
  • Optionally add notes

Each project item stays tied to the catalog product, not to a specific seller listing.

Understand progress

BrickZap calculates progress from your saved inventory.

For each item you will see:

  • Required qty: how many the build needs
  • Owned qty: how many are already in your inventory
  • Missing qty: required minus owned

If an item is fully covered, it appears as owned. If anything is still missing, the row is highlighted so it is easier to spot.

Add owned parts

If you already have some of a part:

  • Click Add owned on that row
  • Enter how many you want to add

This updates your inventory for that product and color, then refreshes the project totals automatically.

Add missing parts to cart

Use Add missing to cart when you want BrickZap to prepare the remaining parts for purchase.

The system:

  • Checks every project item
  • Calculates only the missing quantity
  • Sends those missing items into the cart flow

If some parts cannot be fulfilled, BrickZap will let you know.

Tips

  • Create separate projects for each build, restoration, or MOC
  • Add colors when they matter, so owned quantities stay accurate
  • Use the Missing tab when you are ready to buy
  • Use the Owned tab to confirm what is already covered
