Import Issues: Missing Color or Color Not Allowed

Sometimes an imported row cannot be listed because:

  • The color is missing in the import file, but required for the part
  • The color exists, but isn't currently allowed for that catalog item

What you can do

When you resolve the issue, you'll typically see options like:

Option A — Pick a different color (quick fix)

Choose an allowed color for the catalog item.

Option B — Map to a different catalog product

If the imported SKU matched the wrong item, remap it.

Option C — Suggest adding the color to the catalog

Submit a catalog suggestion for review.

Until approved:

  • You can keep the row saved as "needs approval"
  • You can't publish that listing

Why we do this

It prevents incorrect listings and helps keep the catalog accurate.
