Posting Build Updates

Build updates are a project journal.

Use them to show progress, explain what changed, or let followers know what you are waiting on.

Examples

  • “Started sorting parts”
  • “Found the rare chrome pieces”
  • “Cockpit section complete”
  • “Waiting on shipment”

Add text updates

Write a short update that explains what happened.

Good updates are specific and practical. A sentence or two is usually enough.

Add image URLs

You can add image URLs when you want to show progress photos.

Use clear images that help visitors understand the build stage.

Update progress

An update can include a new progress percentage.

Use this when a major section is complete or when newly sourced parts move the build forward.

Change project status through an update

You can change status while posting an update.

Example: when the first shipment arrives, you might change the project from Sourcing to Building.

Update visibility

Project updates are visible where the project allows them. Public updates are intended for public visitors. Private updates are for your own notes.

Edit or delete updates

Owners can edit updates to fix wording, add details, or adjust visibility.

Delete an update if it is no longer useful or was posted by mistake.

Public project pages

Public visitors see updates that the project page is allowed to show.

Private updates stay private.
